Essentials for Health is a private practice, where clients are educated and consulted about food relating to their particular symptoms, illness or disease. They also come to receive information about making changes in their lifestyle. With the coaching of Willie Victor, a Nutrition Consultant, they will find ways to address their problems with a “customized” program to meet their special needs. Willie does not believe that any “one diet” or food program works for all and that each person needs to have their own specialized program. Willie can service clients locally and long distance.
Willie will meet with you at her office, a comfortable setting in a new clinic. She will gather information and assess your situation. She will recommend testing, if needed, design your program and help you to implement it. Willie does not work with the philosophy of being “the food police”. She hopes that through her education, you will understand the need and how to improve your diet to heal. She works with your lifestyle and your likes and dislikes of certain foods. She works to make your program successful, but enjoyable. She will support you through the tough times of making changes and cheer you on to the next success.

Autoimmune and inflammatory diseases have escalated dramatically in modern times. Most current treatment for these disorders primarily involves drugs that suppress the symptoms.
In both autoimmune and inflammatory diseases the condition arises through aberrant reactions of the human adaptive or innate immune systems. In autoimmunity, the patient’s immune system is activated against the body’s own proteins. In inflammatory diseases, it is the overreaction of the immune system, and its subsequent downstream signaling (TNF, IFN, etc), which cause problems.
A substantial minority of the population suffers from these diseases, which are often chronic, debilitating, and life-threatening. There are more than eighty illnesses caused by autoimmunity. It has been estimated that autoimmune diseases are among the ten leading causes of death among women in all age groups up to 65 years.
Healthy adults start as healthy children. Today children are suffering from obesity, diabetes, learning disabilities, autism, allergies and asthma at higher rates than ever. Most of these problems can be addressed with a change in diet and an understanding of how food relates to these illnesses and diseases.
At Essentials for Health, our nutritionist can work with women who are planning a pregnancy and want good nutrition to start before conception. Women who develop gestational diabetes are at risk of developing diabetes later in life. Good nutrition during pregnancy will help with the healthy development of the fetus, including the brain, eyes and digestive system. After birth, the introduction of foods will determine the health of the child’s gut, not only then, but as an adult. Many food allergies are developed by incorrect food introductions in infancy and as a toddler. Learning abilities have a definite relationship to food intake…there are foods that help a child learn and foods that make the brain foggy and unable to focus. Learning to eat well can be fun.
Our nutritionist can work with results from food testing for allergies and food sensitivities, and designing diets around these food restrictions. We also will provide many resources for websites, educational material, and products for foods of special diets.
Essentials for Health will provide our nutritionist, Willie Victor, who is a Nutrition Educator and a Nutrition Consultant, as a speaker and educator for your corporation, school, club or group. She has experience educating large audiences, at health fairs, and seminars for Human Resource Departments. She has been hired by Blue Cross to provide information for Chevron employees on multiple occasions. She has spoken to the employees at Cutera in South San Francisco on Nutrition and set up a nutrition information center at their Employee Health Fair.
As the owner of a weight loss clinic in Sacramento, she taught classes about food and nutrition and taught healthy cooking classes. She assisted the instructors at Bauman College for four years, helping students with their research projects. She also has a nutrition clinic in Mill Valley, California where she educates clients on health and nutrition. She has a local and long distant practice working with clients all over California and in other states.

There are many reasons for fertility challenges; often the exact cause is unknown. Good nutrition has a direct impact to overall health. Food sensitivities, anemia, thyroid issues, weight and imbalances in blood sugar are directly related to infertility and miscarriage.
Being overweight or underweight can interfere with ovulation. Too much body fat can produce excess estrogen and body fat that is too low can result in decreased estrogen. 12% of infertility is a result of women having too much or too little body fat (American Society for Reproduction Medicine).
Choosing the right proteins, carbohydrates and fats will increase energy, and balance blood sugar, essential for optimum reproductive function. Micronutrients like B6, vitamin C and E, folic acid, magnesium, zinc and potassium are important for regulating hormones, and preventing neural- tube defects. Deficiency in these micronutrients may reduce fertility.
Food sensitivities create inflammation. High levels of chronic inflammation decrease fertility and increase the rate of miscarriage. Caffeine and alcohol have been linked to infertility and caffeine can increase incidence of miscarriage. Elimination of certain foods decreases inflammation which can impact the success of fertility treatments.
Undiagnosed and untreated thyroid disease can be a cause of infertility and recurrent miscarriages. Hashimoto’s and other autoimmune conditions may lead to imbalances in the immune pathways. Changes in diet help to regulate the immune system.
A well balanced, non-inflammatory diet is an essential part of your fertility treatment and helps reduce miscarriage.
